Courses:
A student’s introductory step with STEAM Cathedral is through our structured courses covering fundamental aspects of motorsports, restoration, or communication. A solid foundation is required to build anything of lasting value and we diligently ensure our classes are rooted in safety, correct terminology, and proper tool selection and usage.
STEAM Cathedral constructs our curriculum to allow students to learn and work with their hands while safely making mistakes. Many mistakes, in fact. New tasks are difficult to master and students are expected to perform each undertaking to the best of their current ability while being challenged to hold fast and improve daily, even if just 1%.
Learning to manipulate metal or becoming proficient with hand tools is fun but being permitted to disassemble a system to view the how while being taught the why creates the fertile setting for eye-opening holistic understandings that can blossom into a transformed life.
Pre-Apprenticeships:
Once the required STEAM Cathedral courses are complete and student competency is achieved, fun and growth accelerate as we begin to take students out into the world to test their knowledge and increase their skills. Whether supporting our clients’ race efforts as crew members, learning to race in one of our own competition vehicles, or performing advanced restoration techniques, students are able to continue their hands-on learning at STEAM Cathedral as pre-apprentices.
Pre-apprenticeship students are consistently exposed to an expanding range of challenges that hone technical and problem solving skills as they work alongside mentors on diverse real-world projects.
Beyond:
As interest, knowledge, ability, and trust grow so do the opportunities available to students as their learning trajectory progresses deeper and wider into internships and paid apprenticeships.
STEAM Cathedral uses impactful experiences to arm students with skills they will carry into every facet of their lives. The outcome are empowered youth who better understand themselves, the world, and the framework necessary to successfully carve out their unique place in it.
